Karla Munoz, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant with extensive experience in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Originally from Coahuila, Mexico, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy skin through individualized, evidence-based care.
Karla earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Arizona before completing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Northern Arizona University. Her interest in dermatology began while volunteering at a nonprofit clinic in Tucson, where she worked alongside a dermatologist caring for underserved patients. She later expanded her training through extensive clinical and procedural dermatology rotations in private practice.
Her clinical interests include skin cancer detection and prevention, acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair disorders, and procedural dermatology. She believes that patient education is an essential part of high-quality care and works closely with each patient to develop treatment plans tailored to their individual goals and lifestyle. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she strives to create an environment where patients feel comfortable, informed, and actively involved in their care.
Outside of work, Karla enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending time with her husband, family, friends, and their two doodles, Arnie and Penny.
